As we kick off the New Year, a typical New Year’s resolution is to read more books! As someone who has been consistently reading 10–15 books per year for the last few years, I have to say that this is a fantastic resolution. If you’re reading this article as a regular reader looking for new book recommendations, good for you too!

This book list can be for anyone, but specifically, if you’re an entrepreneur or just someone who is looking to improve yourself, this list will be one you may want to keep an eye out for. If you’re someone looking for a big fiction storyline filled with action, this list, unfortunately, may not be for you… Let’s get started:

1. How To Win Friends & Influence People by Dale Carnegie

Amazon — $10.99

A classic and one of my all time favorites. This book covers a few lessons:

- Six ways to make people like you
- Twelve ways to win people to your way of thinking
- Nine ways to change people without arousing resentment

The advice given by Carnegie is second to none. If you’re looking for self-help advice covering such topics, this is a MUST read.

2. The Slight Edge: Turning Simple Disciplines into Massive Success and Happiness by Jeff Olson

Amazon — 15.77

This book covers the best way to think in your daily life to achieve success and work towards your goals. This book gives a great take on another view of life and everyday occurrences.

This book is designed to give advice on ways to change your life for the better. Not all applications provided by Olson may be used yourself. Still, I’m sure you’ll learn a few exciting tips that you can apply to your everyday life!

3. Token Economy: How the Web3 reinvents the Internet by Shermin Voshmgir

Amazon — $27.19

The boom of Cryptocurrencies and NFTs has taken the past year by storm. This is an exceptionally well written and clear cut book about Web3, the future of the internet. If you’re an investor and believer in the future of a more decentralized world, this book is a perfect read.

This book is a little more “textbooky”, but if you are interested in this topic, you should have no issue grasping the information presented.

4. The 33 Strategies of War by Robert Greene

Amazon — $21.99

Robert Greene is a very well known author from his highly success book, The 48 Laws of Power.

This book, also by Greene, is a very similarly structured book that talks about strategies on coming out on top, beating your enemies, and how to get the upper hand. This book is especially great at giving examples in the past that connects to the topic he is currently talking about.

5. The Founder’s Dilemmas: Anticipating and Avoiding the Pitfalls That Can Sink a Startup by Noah Wasserman

What’s more entrepreneurial than starting a business? This book is for those planning on or currently starting a business. It covers the best strategies for building a team, financial risk to reward, and essential leadership qualities that you must have to be an owner.

If you’re someone planning on starting your own business, I would highly recommend reading this book to start off on the right foot.
